The New Line, as it is still called today, runs from Ballymoney Cross-Roads in a fairly straight line to the Courtown road. This road was one of the famine works carried out on Courtown Estate. At the time quite a lot of drainage work was done on the fields of the Estate. These works appear to have been financed by Lord Courtown and the Government.
